Parent Reminder: Please leave communication folder inside your child's backpack.
Library overdue notices were sent home with students today, please check your child's bag to see if they have any overdue library books! Students were sent home with their Gg books for practice. These books are for your child to keep at home, and their goal is to read their book to 3-5 people. Most students were able to read their Gg book to one friend today. Please be sure to practice this book with your student! Students should also be able to list several words that start with the letter Gg! We brainstormed a lot of words as a class, ask you child what words they know that start with Gg! Please also remember to be practicing the Yellow Sight Words with your student. Sight words help us read and write, but we all need to practice them! Students worked further on their math strategy, number recognition, counting on, and subtilizing skills in math centres today. Ask your student what their favourite math centre is and what skill they are working on when they are at that centre! We are also introducing technology into our literacy work. Students got to practice on the SmartBoard as we played Teach Your Monster to Read! This is fun, free, online program that helps students with letter sounds and sight words.
