Families, please be reminded that there is no school tomorrow, Friday November 1st.
We had such a fun and spooky day at Rosscarrock! After music, students moved into math centres. Grade 1s are learning to count objects in different arrangements, not always a straight number line from 1-10. We are continuously practicing that the last number we say while counting is how many objects we have. Grade 2 continued with their addition practice, introducing new tools to help them solve addition sentences. Today, we used a 100s chart to help solve addition sentences to 20. Afterwards, we introduced story telling! All stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Today, we talked about how in the beginning of a story we are introduced to the characters of the story! We discussed new characters as we watched some spooky Halloween short movies! Students enjoyed a healthy snack and got in the spirit of Halloween as a community, it was great! In the afternoon, Rosscarrock had a Halloween parade. Students travelled to every class to enjoy all the costumes and the pumpkins. In room 9, we ended our day with Zombie dodgeball! See below for the pumpkins of Room 9 !
